KC Weekend- Saturday

Saturday, we hit KC to do some shopping.  Our first stop was Oak Park Mall to find Taylor a dress for Homecoming.
We also spotted Justin Bieber!

Didn't see it coming but Jackie's got Bieber Fever as well.

Dress shopping was fun.
And NO this is not Taylor's dress. :)
It's prettier.

These girls are goofballs.

Hannah and Skylar took a ride on the double-decker carousel.

We skipped lunch to get pedicures.

My toes have never looked this good!
Must be the sandals.....  :)

And No we didn't let Hannah and Skylar starve through lunch.
We let them hit the Nestle Toll House Cookie Bar. :)
You know...it was vacation.

After making our presence known at Oak Park Mall by getting lost.  Who would've thought that the mall would have two (yes.....2) Dillard's stores.  It's no wonder we were completely turned around when trying to leave.
Once we made it to the van, we headed to The Legends for some more shopping fun.

The girls loved the fountain.

We grabbed a quick bite to eat and headed out for Arrowhead Stadium for the main event.

We heart Taylor Swift!

Our KC Weekend- Friday

We had a "sweet" room at the Residence Inn.

There was plenty of room to play and jump from bed to bed.

Once the girls had their fun, they crashed hard.

Jackie and I hit the town with some friends.
We headed to the West Bottoms for some Haunted House fun.

Here's the whole spooky crew from Abilene.
We were fortunate that they let all 9 of us go through the Haunted Houses together.
Hannah and I were up early and had some time to hang out.

Macy, Skylar, and Hannah hanging out before breakfast.

Taylor Swift Concert

Along with 50,000 other Taylor Swift fans, we proceeded to pack Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City for 4 hours of pure entertainment.  I was pleasantly surprised with the show.
Hannah was ecstatic to see one of her favorite artists.

Wish Granted.

My daughter, Hannah's, wish will come true tomorrow.
I am taking her and some friends to the Taylor Swift concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
I hate to break it to her that she will not be on stage with her, but seated in the stands watching.
But hey.....a girl's gotta dream.

Veteran's Memorial

We have been waiting months for new bricks to be added to the Veteran's Memorial in Washington.
Todd's brother, Kevin, was to have a brick honoring his service placed in the wall.
Every trip to Washington this summer included a stop at the Memorial to see if his brick was there.

Today it was!

Neither Matt nor Hannah were alive at the time of Kevin's service but they are still very proud.

While looking at the wall, we also noticed another member from Todd's family- Matthew Donohue.  He was a brother to Todd's Grandma Walter.

The Veteran's Directory also has Kevin's name listed.
Todd and Kevin's uncle, Robert, is also listed for his service.

Girl Scout Camp

Hannah went to her first Girl Scout Camp today.  I laugh because she thought she was going there to sell cookies.
She had a great time.  She was the youngest one there but all the older girls took great care in including her.
She will start Troop Meetings next month.

3415- Bath Time

The steam engine was in need of a bath.
A photographer was coming this month and the ASVRR wanted the engine looking it's best.

Todd spent most of the day down at the railyard scrubbing.

Matt and I stopped in for a visit and decided to stay on the cleaner side of things.

Wee Cheer Clinic

Hannah participated in the Wee Cheer Clinic conducted by the High School cheerleaders.

The girls went to an afternoon clinic last Saturday
to learn their cheers.

Tonight they got to show their moves and chant their cheers.
Hannah had so much fun!

In the news.

My photo of Todd and Hannah working on the steam engine made the front page of the Abilene Visitor's Guide.

Lunch with Hannah

Hannah wanted me to come eat lunch with her at school.
This was a BIG deal since neither Mallory or Matthew wanted me to eat lunch with them when they were in Kindergarten.

Hannah with her friend, Taylor.
Such goofy girls. :)

Matthew's Creations

Teamwork.

Getting around in the morning is sometimes a struggle.
Getting everyone out the door on time can be a challenge.
Sometimes it takes TEAMWORK to get this accomplished.
