Summer Pics- June

--------Wah-Shun-Gah Days--------
It's always nice to make a trip back home. Wah-Shun-Gah Days in Council Grove happens every June and it's a good time to see family and friends.

Hannah and I enjoyed the parade.

Mallory and Dedric rode and the Blanton Family Float.

My mom and grandma also participated on the float.

Maxton fell asleep during the parade.

We spent the evening at Verle's farm which is north of Dwight. We had a BBQ and took a ride on the Model T.

--------Summer Fun at the Pool---------

Summer is here and the water fun has begun. Here are some pics from a visit to the Washington City Pool.

Matthew finally braving the deeper waters.

Hannah in her "swim".

Mallory debating on whether she really wants to get in the pool or not.

Here we go....Nothing that a water ring won't fix!

Todd relaxing by the pool.

Dog Pile

A mother can never get any rest......ALONE! As you can see, I am asleep in the recliner with a heap of kids piled on top!

Great-Grandma's Girls

My grandma from Topeka came and spent Memorial Weekend with us. Todd had a class reunion in Washington and I was stuck in Abilene on call.

Lil' Chef

Hannah has grown a love for cooking. Anytime we are preparing a meal- she is right there in the middle of it.

Birthday Celebration!

For those of you who didn't know. My dad's birthday is on June 1st and mom's is on June 2nd. This year, mom turned 50. We had a small family gathering at the farm. Amber's husband, Matt, fried fish. Brandy's husband, Pepe, made burgers. The rest of us brought sides. It was an enjoyable afternoon. The kids got to play in the camper that my parents recently purchased. Matt had to miss his first practice for t-ball, but grandpa spent plenty of time teaching him to bat. Who better to learn from than someone who coached ball for years and years.

The Tooth Fairy

Mallory lost two teeth the last week of school. She gets pretty excited to leave her tooth for the tooth fairy. She gets even more excited for the dollar that the tooth fairy leaves for her. Yes, her teeth are expensive. With our previous experience with change...choking and an ambulance bill, the tooth fairy leaves $1. Hope this does not become habit......with two more kids to go, we may break the tooth fairies wallet!

Matthew's First Camp

Matthew and his friend, Casen, got to spend Saturday (May 31) at King Solomon Camp. They host a day camp to get young christian's involved early. Matthew says they played, ate, played, sang, played, napped, and played some more.

Vacation Bible School

Well it's been a busy week. Our church had VBS on May 28-30th from 6-8:30pm. The kids had a lot of fun. The circus theme "One with God" was an excellent way to describe the Trinity.
