Simply Divine.

Have you ever had one of those moments? Those moments when you know that God is really speaking to you.

God spoke to me through a homeless woman. Yes, here in our small little town.

Everything that could go wrong did last evening.
Things happened.
Strange things.
All these things led me to walk outside to retrieve something from my van at 10:30 at night.

When I walked outside, a woman was making her way down our sidewalk. She was walking very slowly and stumbled. I looked her way and she said "Maam, could you help me please?" I approached her and said "Sure". She proceeded to tell me that she was homeless. That she was trying to make her way to the shelter 30 miles away. She was disabled (vision impaired)and her hopes were to make it home to Louisiana when her disability check posted to her cash card next week. She had a few dollars that afternoon and had went to the grocery store to get some food. She had met a nice young lady with four children whom had offered her home to her for the night. The homeless woman had kept herself busy at the library and park till evening because she didn't want to impede on the young ladies evening time with her children. She had an address and phone # and decide to walk to the young ladies house when evening came. Being unfamiliar with the area, this was a troublesome task. With the homeless woman's poor vision she could not make out the address on her sheet of paper nor see the house numbers on homes to get to where she was going. She had been wandering in the cold evening air for quite some time.

This brings us to our meeting in front of our house. I looked at the address and knew that I could help her. She had no hat or gloves and was shivering uncontrollably. I went inside and grabbed a hat, gloves, and a warm quilt for her. She was very grateful.

We then proceeded to my van and I assisted her to the young ladies home across town. There was no way that this homeless woman would have ever found the home she was seeking. She may have went unnoticed all night. She very well could have suffered terribly.

In the day and age we live, we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. I wonder how many people had seen her that day? I feel blessed that by the events of my evening that I was led out my front door at the exact moment that I could assist this woman. This divine intervention was created by our Maker. He is in control. As unfortunate as my evening felt and as frustrated as I was, my tone and perspective changed when I saw how fortunate my help was to one person.

5

A week ago, I decided to not drink Dr. Pepper. You have to understand.... I. Love. Dr. Pepper.

My good doctor told me that if I could give up pop, that IT was the way to lose weight. His reasoning seemed logical. So, I'm giving it a try.

After one week, I have drank mostly water. Some milk. A little juice.

But....I have lost 5 pounds. Miraculous, I should say.

Now that I'm throwing in some Wii Fit workouts, good things could happen. :)

Hannah.

I chuckle at the thought of the conversation that Hannah and I had on the way home from preschool today.

Mom:

"How was school today?"

Hannah:

"Good"

Mom:

"What did you do at school?"

Hannah:

"Learn."

Mom:
"What did you learn?"

Hannah:

"I not know."
