Resolutions.

I started my New Year's Resolution early.  As in 2 months early. November 1st to be exact.  13 weeks now of hitting the gym 3-4 times a week.  I do believe it's now habit.  And I am liking it.
I have also set the goal of 1000 miles of running, walking, biking, and elliptical training for 2012.
As of today, I am 98 miles in. That makes me happy.

Hannah set a New Year's Resolution in her Kindergarten class.  She tends to be a talker and "moves a clip"(the disciplinary action in the classroom) on a routine basis.  Now, don't take this wrong.  She is a good kid.  Her teacher loves her.  Hannah is learning so much.  But she is a chatter box.So Hannah's resolution was to not move her clip.  She has done better this month and has even earned some extra stickers on her chart for improved behavior.

Never a dull moment....

There has not been one dull moment in this house since Hannah Rose came into this world.  She makes me smile and laugh.  God made her in her own uniqueness and then quickly broke the mold when he realized what he had created.

Here are some snippets from conversations with Hannah over the past 6 months.

So, Hannah says to me this morning "Mom, if you have to be 21 to drink beer, then you have to be really old to drink coffee right?"

Hannahism for the day: "Mom, that idea came from my very own brain!"

My heart sunk. Every parents worst nightmare.  Hannah informed me tonight that she likes KU more than K-State. I didn't know how to respond. I began to wonder what I had done wrong in raising her. Then I realized that there is indeed worse things in life. She could have told me that she was a Nebraska fan.

Hannah told me she would like two moms since several of her friends have split households. I replied "Well I guess so, as long as I can be the "nice mom"."

Alright, second thoughts on letting my little Hannah be her own creative, independent self. Two hours of cleaning her mess of a room is ridiculous. However.......I did find some jewelry I was missing and a few books. I also found her stash of Elmer's Glue, scissors, and a black Sharpie marker. Lord only knows what she was up to!

Hannah and I got to ride the 3415 Steam Engine back from Enterprise today. I couldn't help but laugh as she got her groove on and sang to the Engineer and Fireman "I like to move it, move it. I like to move it, move it. I like to move it, move it. I like to move it, MOVE IT!"

My Secret Ingredient.

Made an awesome supper tonight and Matthew says "Mom, I love your cooking and I know what your special ingredient is!" I knew what he was going to say because we have this conversation every evening. (He always replies "Love!") But.....before he can get the words out of his mouth, Hannah pipes up "Ooooh! I know. I know. IT'S SALT!"

Genetics.

A Frese Trait that I do not possess but inherently passed on to my son-  touching the tip of your nose with your tongue.

My sisters would be proud.

Strange Pet.

Hannah's class assignment recently was to draw a picture of a strange pet that they would want.
She picked a pig.  Not all that strange, but that's coming from those farm girl roots of mine.

Girl Scout Goodness.

Hannah's Daisy Troop had a recognition ceremony tonight.
The girls were awarded badges for service and also received awards for the nut sales they did in the fall.

The whole troop saying the Girl Scout pledge.

Hannah receiving her awards.

She is part of a great troop that has some pretty great leaders.

Hannah's friend, Skylar, was top seller in the nut sales.

Cookie Sales have started so if you would like to place an order, give us a call.

Mallory's 12th Birthday.

We celebrated with family and friends at La Fiesta for Mallory's Birthday.  It was exactly the type of party she wanted.
Pure Happiness.

She loved the Birthday Hoopla at La Fiesta.
It makes her smile.

She even giggled at getting her dessert smeared in her face.

Our friend, Ashley, was in town to help Mallory celebrate.
Ashley's birthday was earlier in the week so she got the
Birthday Surprise as well.

Horse Love.

Hannah received a ceramic horse for Christmas from Jackie and she has been begging me to paint it.
This weekend we finally had some time to do it.
Hannah says she painted it just like her boy, Giz.

Procrastination.

It's winter.  So I have put off going to the Recycle Center.
Lesson learned:  Never put off going to the Recycle Center.
We loaded the van full of everything recyclable TWICE.

Bonus: Waiting in line on both trips.

Walter Christmas

We had a surprise visitor at the Walter Family Christmas.
Mallory and Hannah were so surprised to have a personal visit from Santa.  The experience was priceless.

We had a great time celebrating Christmas at Pat & Dawn's house.
The cousin's had fun playing Just Dance 3 and playing with the gifts received for Christmas.
