I want Da Nilla.

Hannah and I got to spend a little time together. Just us two girls. What fun! I asked Hannah what she wanted to do and she replied like any other 3 year old would. "I want Da Nilla ice cream." So off we went to Dairy Queen. Hannah got her wish. A vanilla ice cream cone all to herself. No sharing. What a treat!

Summer Fun

Matthew and his friends, Casen and Josh, went to four weeks of swimming lessons this summer. The boys had a lot of fun and got more comfortable with the water. It was definately a summer they will never forget.

Train Ride

Last weekend, while Kevin & family were back from Virginia, we entertained them with a ride on the Abilene Smoky Valley Railroad. We had a fun time riding the train to Enterprise and back.

Matthew

Todd volunteers on the train a couple of times a month. It's great because they let Matthew come along. Todd was the conductor on our trip last weekend.

Afterwards, we spent the evening at our home and cooked supper for everyone. The kids had a lot of fun just hanging out and playing.

Relaxation

It was a nice peaceful trip on the train last weekend. The weather was beautiful. The train was fully loaded. They even had to open up the third car to accomodate passengers.

Frese Fourth of July

Over 60 family and friends gathered at the Frese Farm over the 4th of July weekend. This has become an annual tradition and the numbers attending grow each year. My dad grew up with 7 siblings and all of them were able to make it back. Three of them traveled from out of state.

Wish Granted

All summer long, Matthew has been wanting to go to the farm and just hang out with his cousin Dedric. Luck had not been on his side. It would rain.... It was Wah-Shun-Gah Days.... Or something or another would come up...... Last weekend, Matt got his wish.

He spent all afternoon at the farm.

With Dedric.

On the 4-wheeler.

Exploring.

What 6 year old would NOT love that? He had a blast!

Maxton's New Ride

Pepe bought Maxton a gator. Maxton loves it. We spent most of the Fourth of July celebration watching Maxton (whose not quite 2) drive his gator all over the farm. He would cruise up along side his cousins and pat the seat to ask if they wanted a ride. Such fun!

New Specs.

Mallory's glasses arrived. She can hardly contain her excitement. Or keep her glasses on her face. She is pretty adorable in them. Wouldn't you agree?

So tiny.

My husband says that there are never any pictures of me posted. There's a reason for that. I really don't like to have my picture taken. But here you go, Todd. One picture of me. Holding my sweet little nephew, Cole.

Tornado Drill....or maybe not.

Last Friday evening, the weather took a turn for the worst and Dickinson County was placed in a Tornado Warning. We gathered the kids, packed a bag, grabbed the weather radio and headed to the basement. Luckily, all we got was a little rain and wind. It was a scary experience for the kids. It's not that often that we take to the basement in such a hurry. Last night, our local paper ran an article on the storm and there is an amazing picture of the wall cloud that was headed towards us. We are very thankful that the storm passed us by.

Temper Tantrum

My sweet little Hannah was not so sweet. She got in trouble for being naughty and was sent to her room. I went downstairs to start a load of laundry and heard a commotion upstairs. Hannah was throwing her books across her bedroom that I had just cleaned. Needless to say, I was not happy.

BBQ at Brown's Park

Last Sunday, we headed out to Brown's Park and grilled burgers for lunch. We had a lot of fun just hanging out. We went for walks, watched the cottonwood trees, and ate some good food.

Glasses

Mallory had an appointment with the eye doctor this morning. We had been putting off the whole "glasses issue" for about two years. Well....this year Mallory got her wish. Glasses. A mother's worst fear. She was very excited. Me? Not so much. I know that she needs them, but I already envision their demise. Luckily, Dr. Luty assured me there was a warranty and that we could limit her use, keeping it to learning for now. Maybe Mallory will surprise me and take to these glasses like nothing else. I have to admit that she was very excited to try all the different pairs of glasses on. And I do have to say that she is pretty adorable in them. :)
